JOYTOY × Warhammer Perturabo Review — Steel Lord Unboxing, Details & Collector Insights
Introduction: Perturabo Finally Arrives
The JOYTOY × Warhammer Perturabo Primarch figure has finally started arriving, and although the preorder-to-delivery cycle felt longer than usual, the wait was absolutely worth it. As someone who collects JOYTOY Primarchs and designs custom Warhammer 1:18 accessories for my shop, I’m very sensitive to quality—fortunately, Perturabo is one of JOYTOY’s strongest releases so far.

Who Is Perturabo? The Bitter, Brilliant Lord of the Iron Warriors
Perturabo, Primarch of the Iron Warriors, is known for:
-
his cold, calculating personality
-
his long-standing resentment toward the Imperium
-
his rivalry with Rogal Dorn
-
his unmatched mastery of siegecraft
These lore elements give the figure an added depth and presence, making him not just a collectible—but a character with weight.

Outstanding Armor & Paint: JOYTOY Nails the “Logos” Terminator Armor
Perturabo wears his custom-designed Terminator armor known as The Logos.
JOYTOY’s execution here is impressive:
-
Metallic layers show excellent depth
-
No messy paint pooling or overspill
-
Solid weight and strong sculpted definition
If you enjoy upgrading your figures, the armor pairs extremely well with Terminator-style custom helmets from my shop.

Head Sculpt: Great Sculpt, Slightly Too Clean Paint
The head sculpt captures Perturabo’s sharp and irritated expression perfectly.
The only downside is the skin tone being a little too smooth. A mild wash adds realism.
Since I produce custom Primarch helmets, I’ll be equipping him with a Terminator-inspired option soon.

Weapons: Quad Bolters & the Legendary Forgebreaker
Perturabo carries:
Dual Quad-Barrel Bolters
-
Soft PVC ammo feeds
-
Sharper detailing than earlier JOYTOY releases
Forgebreaker Hammer
This iconic melee weapon gives Perturabo a powerful silhouette. If you're into upgrading melee weapons for your Primarchs, check out the custom power hammers in my store.

Size & Presence: Heavier Than Dorn, Only Outclassed by Horus
In-hand, Perturabo feels dense and powerful.
He looks even bulkier than Rogal Dorn, making him one of the most satisfying Primarchs to handle.
Among JOYTOY Primarchs, only Horus rivals him in overall width.
Collector’s Thoughts: Who’s Coming Next? Will JOYTOY Release the Emperor?
With each Primarch release improving in quality, many collectors—including myself—are wondering if JOYTOY will eventually tackle the Emperor.
There’s no official confirmation yet, but based on their current trajectory, it doesn’t feel impossible.
If you’ve already received Perturabo, I hope you’re enjoying this impressive release as much as I am.
